The Field of Sand is a territory used strictly for the living horses to communicate freely with deceased spirits, or those of us who have passed on to the afterlife. The territory itself is more or less like a rock garden in the middle of a grassy field. The sand is like what one would find in a desert, and there are small boulder-like stones scattered about. The area itself seems a little random, but everyone who's got half a brain knows when they set foot here that it's nothing less than sacred ground.
