After a winter of complete hell, those who survived set aside their differences and banded together. Trying to piece back together what they had lost, their paradise is slowly growing back. The dead watch over them, trying to keep them from repeating the history that almost destroyed them all.

After the long winter, the ground in most places is still very muddy and wet, making travel in low-lying areas more difficult. Various plants are beginning to sprout, and temperatures vary from 40º to 60º F, save for in the northern mountains, where it can still get as low as 20º F.

{ L e a g u e » O f » R i v a l s } So, you've claimed a land, got some horses with you. Now you need to come here and post your herd's thread. This is where you'll be able to keep up with your activity, post any rules, and maintain your members.
These high waterfalls cascade down into a small valley from high cliff-like rocks. The falls got their name from the unmistakable droning roar that hums over the territory from the consistent falling water. This is a common place to find deliberate loners and helpless wanderers. It's a peaceful place most of the time, but you never really know with ungoverned horses roaming about.
This is where the lost of the lost somehow manage to end up. In a sea of grasslands in the central area of Luxan territory, a small hill stands proudly over all else. Covered in lush grasses, it's the perfect lookout spot for the paranoid wanderer. The only disadvantage is that getting atop this hill makes anyone perfectly visible for miles. This might not be too great a setup for those who don't particularly want to be seen.
Yes, Regal Shores, the territory everyone wants and only the best can own. These soft, sandy beaches are lined with beach grasses and are encrusted with a variety of dribbling streams and quiet groves of trees. It's a fairly large land, seeing as it covers most of the reachable coastline along the Luxan Sea. This land is hard to get control of, and even harder to keep. Good luck, aspiring herd leaders, because you're in for a challenge if you've got your eye on this place.
Past the border of Regal Shores, a small bay carves into the shoreline to reveal a hidden grotto. The entrance is small, but the interior of this territory is impressively woven through a series of tunnels and up through various corridors. There are several openings in the grotto that empty out into hidden fields and pond areas. The horses that are lucky enough to live here know their way through the grotto quite well, but newcomers and visitors seem to have the greatest trouble finding their way through the tunnels and caverns of this land.

Thin grey tree trunks rise up out of the forest floor like hairs, reaching their slender branches up towards the sun. They twist about each other, weaving a grey canopy of bark and leaves. at night, this territory is one of the spookiest to be wandering in, for lack of better words. It got its name because of the unreal look of the trees; like they were dreamt into life from someone's fairytale world. Not even this territory's inhabitants are quite sure how far this forest extends, but it's assumed that this territory is fairly large, and keeps those who seek a sanctuary well hidden from the dangers of what lies beyond.
The yellow grasses blanketing this huge field-like plain make it stand out like a sore thumb in from every other territory in the Luxan realm. Tall, green-leaved oaks are scattered like loose confetti across this lush pasture, providing shade for those who need it. This is a comfortable area, but it's an easy place to get spotted by predators like mountain lions and wolves, who oftentimes hide in the brush and heavy forests surrounding the area. The strongest horses usually do quite well out here in the open, and those who live here tend to push weaklings away, if only for their safety.
A steep slope dives down into this deep valley, giving way to speckles of brush and rock, similar to what one would find in the badlands. The horses that choose to live in this valley take pride in their hidden paradise. It may not be perfect, but they wouldn't have it any other way. For a ravine, this area is very calm and peaceful. There are a few groves of trees here and there, and there are small lakes and ponds that dot the ravine's basin. These ponds sometimes dry up in the summer, though, and this is when the horses that live here sometimes have to venture elsewhere for clean water. When the rains come, this area floods very easily, making this hidden paradise all the more dangerous.

On the northern border of Luxan territory, high mountain peaks grace the horizon with a kind of fearful beauty. Before the treacherous mountainsides become to unbearable, and before they cross the border into foreign territory, the horses who inhabit this ancient land act almost as if they are guardians of the mountains. They're a herd alright, but there's something about this land that makes a horse want to keep to his or herself. Something about the air makes the rest of the world go quiet. There's a huge abundance of fresh water in this territory, as well as grasses to feed on. The only real danger is losing your mind, or losing a limb to an unexpected predator's attack.

Far to the south, there is an island in the middle of the Luxan Sea where very few have dared to venture. Little is known as of now regarding what truly lies across the sea and into this evil realm, but the brave [but more-so the stupid], are beginning to take their chances, crossing the sea and looking for an answer to this mystery. Are you brave [or stupid] enough to find out for yourself? Even more importantly, are you willing to make the swim?

The Field of Sand is a territory used strictly for the living horses to communicate freely with deceased spirits, or those of us who have passed on to the afterlife. The territory itself is more or less like a rock garden in the middle of a grassy field. The sand is like what one would find in a desert, and there are small boulder-like stones scattered about. The area itself seems a little random, but everyone who's got half a brain knows when they set foot here that it's nothing less than sacred ground. There's information about this territory in the rules regarding where the dead are allowed to go. Check there if you find yourself confused.
