» Be nice, don't be stupid and incompetent, etc. We will hurt you otherwise.
» One account per member. No exceptions.
» Time changes and seasons change with the flow of the site. It all depends on how active we are. If things are moving along nicely, seasons will change faster. If things are sluggish, seasons will stick around for a while.

» Use the form AS SHOWN. Don't edit it, just for the sake of uniformity.
» Please just put your character's name in the title so we don't have to decipher some secret code to figure out what their name is.
» Don't worry, you rebels out there, you can go as carzy as you want when you make your thread to keep track of all of your characters [which is optional, but helpful].
» Keep coat colours as natural as possible. A little tint here or there is fine, though. For example: red tinted pelts are perfectly acceptable, as are blue roan types of colours.
» As for markings, go crazy. If your horse wants tribal tattoos, give them tribal tattoos. If you want your horse to have other various crazy markings, make my day. xD
» You'll know your character is accepted when a staff member posts "ACCEPTED" or something of the like as a reply to the thread you made. Pretty simple stuff.
{ p o s t i n g }
» As of right now, there's a 100-word post minimum for in character things. OOC obviously doesn't matter too much.
» This is an all level RPG, but any beginners need to try to keep up with the post minimum.
» If you're gonna have any crazy blood, gore, intercourse, etc, say so in the title of your thread so timid little children don't read it and shun you for the rest of your life because your writing gave them nightmares. >,,>

» Every new character starts out as a loner. You have a choice when you go into the RP world if you're going to stay a loner or if you want to join a herd.
» Loners have their own territories blocked off for them, but any unclaimed territory in the "Open Lands" is free roaming land for any loners who want a change of scenery.
» Likewise, if a herd horse wants to get away for a little while, they are welcome to visit Loner territories at any time.
» Joining differs from each herd because every herd's Lead makes their own rules. Not every country has the same laws, do they? No. Same goes for herds on ML.
» Claiming territories isn't all that difficult. You don't need any followers right away, and all you have to do is make an IC post saying that your horse has claimed the land for his own.
» Only stallions can claim lands and become Leads. Why? Because biologically, mares are smaller and weaker than stallions [usually], and I don't want to be responsible for any one-sided fights over land. If you REALLY REALLY want your mare to claim a land, PM me and we can talk about it.
» If you're confused, the "Lead" is basically the horse who originally claimed the land and started the herd, and it doesn't have anything to do with being a King or Queen of something. You just own the land and the horses who live there.
» Once you've claimed your land, it's YOUR responsibility to make your herd roster, get some rules and regulations up, and keep your territory active. If you fail to do this, your character will lose his power over that territory.
» ALL of EVERY herd's information is located in the "League of Rivals" board. It's easier to keep track of things that way.
» GUESS WHAT? You get to name your herd! Yes, because lands are fought over so much and herds are forced to move in and out of territories, every Lead, upon creating their herd, can name their herd whatever they see fit.
» Fighting over territories occurs just as it would in a real wild horse environment. The horse looking to overtake the land and drive the other herd out challenges the Lead, and they duke it out until a decision is made [someone dies or someone gives up and leaves].
» When challenging a Lead for his land, you can either choose to fight in order to take just the land, or steal the opposing stallion's herd as well. It all depends on what you want, and what you want the other stallion to get away with.
» You can choose at any time to ditch the herd you're in. That means that if you get sloshed around from one herd to the next because your Lead keeps getting his herd stolen, you can say you want out, and try to leave without getting injured. It kind of depends on how evil your Lead is. xD

» Breeding can happen anywhere and at any time of year, but please put a warning in the title of your thread if you're planning on making it graphic.
» A mare can only have one foal per site year. Any other breeding is just for kicks.
» As for the preggo time of your mare, it doesn't particularly matter at all. If you want to make a few threads with her being pregnant, go for it. Otherwise, you can just skip to the foaling.
» Fighting can happen anywhere as well. There's no designated area for it, but be aware of where you are when you're tearing someone's neck out, because the territory greatly adds to how the fight plays out.
» KEEP TRACK OF YOUR OWN CRAP. Staff members don't need to baby you about who wins a fight or what your foal looks like. Decide amongst yourselves.
» After foals are born, you decide what to do with them. You can play them yourself or give the responsibility to one of the other members who you trust. Deal with this amongst yourselves as well.
{ d e c e a s e d }
» You decide when you want your characters to die. Pick a way to kill them off, or let them age and wither away. Your horses just can't live forever, is all.
» When your horse dies, you have two choices. You can either put that character to rest completely [not play them anymore] or you can make them apart of the deceased horses in the afterlife of the site.
» Deceased horses communicate with living horses in The Field of Sand, which is in the "Other Lands" category.
» Make your deceased horse appear to the living horses in any way you please. They can show up as a ghostly creature, a full-bodied horse that looks like any regular horse, an angelic being of some sort, or just a voice in the wind. Be creative.
» Deceased horses RARELY leave The Field of Sand. The only real exceptions to this would be if it was essential in the plot for a deceased horse to visit a mortal territory to provide guidance or advice. This means you should okay it with a staff member, preferably Ranjit or myself, if you'd like your dead horse to visit elsewhere.
NEW » MAKING DECEASED CHARACTERS.... There will be small windows of time where this is allowed. There will be a specific set of character rules that will go with this, which will be posted in the character making board. Keep an eye out for that in the future.
{ w h a t ' s » t o » c o m e }
» After the site gets up and running and we have a few big herds, the plot is gonna twist a bit, and there will be some new and exciting things going on. All the more reason to stick around, eh?
» This plot twist will involve making characters, so keep your eyes open for new additions to these rules.
